Fred J. Badia
Chairman of the Board
Fred J. Badia serves as Chairman of Seyer Pharmatec, Inc. a position that he assumed in November 1995 after acquiring the company. Mr. Badia has more than 35 years of international pharmaceutical management and marketing experience.
Mr. Badia began his international pharmaceutical management career at Richardson Merrell in New York City in the legal department. He later accepted the position as General Manager of American Home Products, in charge of both Colombia and Ecuador. After a time a successful tenure at American Home Products he accepted the position as President in charge of Andean countries at McKesson Corporation. Mr. Badia was later hired by Donald Rumsfeld to serve in various executive capacities at G.D. Searle & Co., including Vice President Operations for Latin American and the Caribbean, and later as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Mr. Badia left GD Searle when he acquired Laboratorios Columbia, S.A., a pharmaceutical concern in Mexico, where he served as Chairman. He successfully restructured and sold that company and later became a partner at Inhalon Pharmaceutical, Inc.
Mr. Badia received his J.D. at Santo Domingo University and has his MBA in Business Administration from Columbia University.
Michel L. Badia
President and CEO
Michel L. Badia is President and Chief Executive Officer of Seyer Pharmatec, Inc. Michel began as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 1996, and later became Executive Vice President.
Michel has vast sales, marketing and management experience. Before joining Seyer, Michel was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Pharmasol Corporation. Prior to Pharmasol, Michel was Director/Partner at Biophar International, representing various European dermatology companies in South and Central America as well as the Caribbean. Before Biophar he served as Director of Sales and Partner for Dade Sky Trading Corporation (Brown & Root Contractors) procuring for the US Army, USAID and the United Nations in Latin American and the Caribbean. Michel has also held various sales, marketing and management positions for Laboratorios Columbia (Mexico City, Mexico), Mayoristas Fischel (San Jose, Costa Rica) and Wyeth-Ayerst (Florida and Panama).
He has 22 years in the industry and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Mireille A. Lopez
Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Lopez is our Chief Operating Officer. She has more than 13 years of Finance and Management experience in highly demanding environments requiring continuous improvements and efficiencies. Consistently delivering high results through leadership, streamlining business cycles, strategic negotiations and alliances, operating with discipline, teamwork and prudent risk taking. She has a proven track record plus robust experiences in corporate and entrepreneurial environments. Her recent experiences include: President / CEO Caribbean Investment Group (Fuddruckers and Uno Chicago Grill – San Juan PR), Vision 2 Action – as Strategic Management and Financial Consultant, Johnson & Johnson Company as Franchise Controller for ETHICON, Inc. (Latin America). She also held positions with UBS Investment Bank, New York and PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP San Juan PR.
Ms. Lopez earned her Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas – McCombs School of Business and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Vandekreeke is Chief Financial Officer of Seyer Pharmatec, Inc. He also comes to us with an extensive, well diversified corporate and community service background. His recent experience includes; Vice President of Finance at Stiefel Laboratories the world’s largest independent dermatology company, where he’s served for the past three and a half years. While there he led the Corporate Treasury, R&D Finance and Financial Planning functions. Prior to Stiefel, he served as Finance Director – Latin America for Johnson & Johnson, International Finance Director for Drypers Corporation, and in a variety of Finance roles including Controller / Financial Planning Manager at Chiquita Brands International.
Robin also currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member for CHARLEE Homes for Children, a foster care organization based in Miami, Florida.
Mr. Vandekreeke earned his Master of Business Administration in International Finance from the Thunderbird School of International Management and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Economics from Brown University.
Albery Sanchez, C.M.R.
VP and General Manager
Albery Sanchez is VP and General Manager of Seyer Pharmatec, Inc. Albery comes to us from Roche Laboratories where he excelled as a Cardiovascular and Neurology Specialist, Hospital Specialist and Regional Sales Trainer. With more than 27 years in the Pharmaceutical industry, holding various sales and marketing positions throughout his career with Baylor Labs, Norwich-Eaton, Proctor and Gamble, Syntex Laboratories and finally with Roche Pharmaceuticals. Albery is responsible for establishing sales directives for the organization, as well as managing the organization’s divisional sales forces.
Albery holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Puerto Rico and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix.
Virginia Carrasquillo, Pharm. D.
Ms. Carrasquillo is the company’s Resident Pharmacist. She has over 30 years in the local pharmaceutical industry. She has excelled most recently as a pharmacist for Mova Pharmaceuticals, and has worked with most of the larger hospitals in Puerto Rico, including Pavia, HIMA, and San Jorge. At Seyer she is responsible for the matters related to the Puerto Rico Department of Health, including product registration and licensing. She also certifies that all of the physicians that we call on are properly licensed and current to receive product samples. Puerto Rico law also mandates that a registered pharmacist be present during product distribution.
Ms. Carrasquillo has her Bachelor of Science Degree, as well as her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Puerto Rico.
The most important appendage of the company, the Sales Force, is directed to call on the island’s hospitals, pharmacies, and each have @160-185 physicians to detail on their four-five week cycle. Our Territory Managers promote a variety of prescription products that treat conditions in the areas of allergy, dermatology, gastroenterology, hematology & oncology, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, podiatry, rheumatology and urology.
Currently we have distinct sales divisions including;
Our Territory Managers all have had successful outside sales experience in areas including pharmaceutical, device and medical sales. All receive extensive on-going, sales, product and compliance training. They are very well supervised, trained and equipped.
Seyer Pharmatec currently occupies two facilities. Our Sales and Training Offices are located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Being centrally located is a great advantage as it gives our Territory Managers greater access to our facilities and vice versa. Our Distribution and Administration Center is located in Miami, Florida. Greater access to our suppliers on the main land as well a large and versatile facility allows us the flexibility to grow and expand without ever affecting our operations.
